In Kraków, there are two main districts where people go to eat in restaurants and cafeterias. Main square - Rynek, and Kazimierz, an old Jewish district. This fantastic Polish street food is a favorite not only of locals, who queue up for, but also of thousands of tourists that come to visit Krakow.

INGREDIENTS
1 French baguette per person or 1 honey hole wheat baguette (1 foot length)
16 oz common brown mushrooms
butter
1 chopped onion
parsley
16 oz shredded Mozzarella and Provolone
oilve oil
salt & pepper
The Classical Zapiekanka
1 bunch Chive
1 Fried chopped onion
The Góralska Zapiekanka
1 Polish Sausage
1 Oscypek - Polish sheep cheese
The Greek Zapiekanka
1/2 Feta cheese
3-4 Kalamata Olives
1 small mini red bell pepper
Garnish Fried Onion
Sauces: ketchup, garlic sauce or ranch
STEP BY STEP
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Start by preparing the base: chop onion, parsley and slice the mushrooms. Preheat a frying pan with some olive oil.
Sauté onion, for a few minutes and then add chopped mushrooms. Spices it with some salt and pepper. Let it cook for 10 min, and add finely chopped parsley.
While the mushrooms are cooking, take the baguettes and cut them lengthwise. Spread some butter on the inside of the bread.
Take the cooked mushrooms and spread evenly among each piece of bread.
For the classic Zapiekana
Topped it with shredded cheese. And put it in the oven for 6-7 min. Until the cheese melts down and the bread gets crunchy.
After taking it out from the oven garnish everything with chopped chives.
For the Góralska Zapiekanka
Slices the sausage and oscypek.
Put both on top of the mushrooms, add a bit of mozzarella cheese.
Also, place it in the oven and bake until the cheese melts, bread gets crunchy and the sausage is cooked (about 10 min).
For the Greek Zapiekana
Thinly slice feta, olives and bell pepper.
Spread all the ingredients on top of the baguette, add some mozzarella. Similar to the other Zapiekanki, place it in the oven for a few min.
Eat hot, garnish with fried onion and favorite sauce
